Helping provide a hopeful future for children of Nepal

Principal LED is proud to partner with AdArt and Nepal Children Home for their annual Golf Tournament which was held October 15th, 2015. We are pleased to share this overview of the program and Blake and Bryan’s involvement, provided by Anna-Marie Head, board member of the Nepal Children Home:

“Owners of Principal LED, brothers Bryan and Blake Vincent, have over the years helped to provide a quality life for a group of orphans near Kathmandu, Nepal. Nepal Children Home (NCH) evolved from one person sending funds to support a couple of orphans to the 501(c) 3 organization it is today. The sole support for the NCH is donations from individuals, such as the Vincent’s and Principal LED.

“As the number of children increased, it was clear that a proper home with facilities to accommodate more lives must be built. Over a period of three and a half years, the new house was built by hand, brick by brick, and finally in May 2014, the house parents and 16 children moved into the new home. No more walking a mile twice each day for water, and at last, there is privacy for bathing. The children are enjoying better health and shine with happier spirits in the improved living quarters.

“When donations were down and monies were needed to make a payment to continue construction on the new house, Bryan and Blake were always the first to help. If not for their timely contributions, there is no doubt that the outcome for these children would have been different after the 8.1 magnitude earthquake in Nepal this past May. Their previous home was made unlivable, and nearby resources for food and water were obliterated. Only minor cosmetic repair to the new home was needed and their garden is intact.

“The new house was built to accommodate up to fifty (50) children, but the trickle of donations is barely enough to support the current number. The Nepal Children’s Home Charity Golf Classic was born in the fall of 2014 to increase awareness of the organization and create a channel for untapped donations. After the inaugural event last year, our network is slowly starting to expand. Our goal is to engage others in sponsorship at the charity golf classic and increase participation. This year we had nine teams, three more than our inaugural year. All the money made from the event goes directly to the Nepal Childrens Home; it is not passed through a third party, nor an agency, nor the government. The organization has no administrative costs and the board of directors is all volunteer.

“Principal LED has sponsored the NCH Charity Golf Classic for these first two years, and livened the festivity with its crackerjack team! Their generous spirit and desire to provide for the poorest of the poor in this world shines in their lives and actions; they’ve chosen to sponsor three children this year! Their sponsorship provides food, water, medicinal care, school and bus fees and parental care – basic essentials. We are ecstatic! This generosity also enables us to purchase material for sewing clothes (the house mother sews and teaches the sewing), school supplies, a pair of shoes, a new coat for those who need one, and a few more miscellaneous items during our trip each year. Principal LED is truly part of the fabric that is wrapped around the hearts of the children, the house parents and those of us who work intimately with the NCH. They truly understand the meaning of laying up their treasures in heaven and do so cheerfully!
